Down South was formed in 2024 in Eindhoven by five musicians who'd spent years playing together through the local scene and the Studentproof Jazz Association. Ruben (drums), Arturs (guitar), Karlijn (vocals), Kamil (bass), and Nikola (guitar) share a musical direction and the itch to build something of their own.

The sound is country rock and blues rock at its core, but the jazz in everyone's DNA keeps it from sitting still. Songs are structured, but on stage there's room to breathe: extended solos, musical conversation, a live energy that shifts with the room. Every show is a little different. That's the point.
